Jax is one month old! I can't believe it's been a month already. The time has flown by. In his first month he has used 300 newborn diapers and has now moved on to size 1. He has gone from 7lbs 13oz to 10 pounds. He has outgrown the newborn size sleepers and sleep and plays, he can still wear some individual newborn pieces but he mostly wears 0-3 months now. He eats every 2 or 3 hours during the day and about every 4 during the night. He has treated me to a 5 hour sleep stretch 3 times though, and it was like I was Rip van Winkle!
In the past month I have learned:
- that love at first sight does exist
- that it is possible to love someone more each and every day when you thought you loved them with all your heart the day before
- that a freshly changed diaper is an invitation for a poop explosion
- that babies have no problem doing their business on any poor soul who happens to be holding them
- that one smile from a precious baby can make you forget whatever he did the moment before to drive you crazy
- to always cover the business end of a baby boy when changing his diaper
- to always pack a diaper bag even if you are only planning to be out for 5 minutes
- that a clean house, shower, or home cooked meal is not as important as I once thought it was
- that I could not survive without my husband
